Impact of Crimestoppers’ partnerships
Identifying, investigating and addressing crime and wrongdoing.
Crimestoppers is committed to keeping communities safe from crime. In addition to our charity’s core public-facing service, we work with over 100 organisations across industry, government and law enforcement, with the aim of deterring, identifying and addressing crime and wrongdoing.
Having delivered our unique service for over 35 years, we use our expertise and infrastructure to enable people across the UK to speak up and stop crime.
Not only do we provide our service to members of the public, but we also provide bespoke reporting and whistleblowing services for a large number of organisations with specific crime concerns. This helps them protect their businesses, their brands, their colleagues and the communities in which they operate.
From the NHS to Fire and Rescue Services and multinational businesses, we work to encourage people to speak up about crime and wrongdoing.
The information we receive includes details on:
Abuse Bribery Child sexual exploitation Counterfeit goods Deliberate fire setting/arson Drug cultivation, distribution and use Environmental crime | Fraud Harassment Illegal tobacco Misogyny Modern slavery Rural crime Theft |
Collaborating with our partners helps us gather and pass on more information about a wider range of issues for investigation to protect more people across the UK.
Some of our specialised services include Stay Energy Safe, through which we educate people on the dangers of energy theft, how to spot it, and how to report it.
Another is Portsafe, which gives staff and contractors at ports the opportunity to speak up anonymously when they have suspicions of potential crime in and around commercial ports or port facilities.
Altia’s investigation and deterrence tools
We also work with a number of organisations who can help our partners in their efforts to address the challenges they face from crime and wrongdoing. These technological solutions can make the challenging task of gathering, compiling, assessing, and triaging information more efficient. It can free up time to spend on other important tasks that can often take a back seat.
Our trusted partner Altia provides intelligence and investigation tools to help teams improve their processes, get the most out of data and improve insight in order to drive results and change.
Altia delivers transformative technology which has facilitated ground-breaking outcomes for a number of organisations, including West Sussex County Council combating fraud against the elderly and vulnerable - and their tools streamlined and reinforced Reigate & Banstead Council's financial crime strategy. Altia's experience in providing tools to combat fraud is used not only by local authorities, but also police forces and corporate clients.
We are pleased to partner with Altia, who offer tailored solutions that streamline investigations, enhance evidence compilation, and promote deterrence.
ESRI’s mapping power
Crimestoppers and ESRI work together to use mapping software to identify which law enforcement agency should receive the information we receive about crime, from the public, 100% anonymously. With specialised software, we utilise the ‘science of where’ to identify crime trends and hotspots.
Everything happens somewhere. Using AI and geographical information systems, ESRI helps organisations to unlock data’s full potential using location intelligence. To find out about who they have worked with, why, and the solutions they have provided, click here.
